You CAN get in the best shape of your life! Stop making excuses for poor eating and exercise habits!! You don’t need to compete to participate in this program. Regan and Lynne provide expert coaching, detailed eating plans, tips for time management and support. You also get your “before and after” pictures and Microfit evaluations. 12 week session

Learn how regular weight training can help you develop a strong and shapely body. This tried and true class, taught by GLAC Personal Trainers Lynne Roth and Paulette Belanger, includes workouts which incorporate free weights, cables, Swiss Ball, resistance bands and medicine balls. Many women have gained strength and confidence through this program.

Sessions run monthly.  Class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

This workout class is both thorough and personal. Designed for busy professionals who want to make fitness a part of their lifestyle, this 40 minute workout includes both cardio and strength training for a total body boost. Class ratio is 1:6 so everyone gets the personal attention they deserve. Along with your class you will receive a GLAC recipe collection, grocery shopping list, and “homework.”

Sessions run monthly.  Class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 p.m. - 12:40 p.m.

Get ready to work your body in this high intensity, results-oriented challenge. The focus is on BASIC TRAINING! This class will include a class T-shirt. Don’t think you can do it? Having a trainer is great motivation for pushing yourself to the limits! This is an advanced class!

You've heard about the Beach Body phenomenon, now get your own Beach Body!  Maintain a toned summer figure all year round.  This class will keep you in top condition for the fall, winter, spring and summer activities!  Join GLAC Personal Trainer Dorota Dorosz for a program of intense cardiovascular and strength training.

Who says you can’t have a tight, flat stomach after a c-section? With so many babies born via cesarean, chances are you or someone you know has had one. This class will teach you how to bring your abs back and promote proper posture and alignment for a toned mid-section.  Instructor: Dorota Dorosz

Are you tired of long hours of cardio with little results? Kickboxing is an excellent way to add some variety and intensity to your current workout routine and really KICK START your results. Sessions will include heavy bag training, punch and kick pad exercises, cardio, balance and coordination exercises, flexibility and nutrition. Small group or individual sessions are available with nationally certified personal trainer and kickboxing instructor Adam Spencer.

Would you like to take your fitness and health to the next level? Would you like to have more energy, lose weight, and/or learn healthy eating for diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure? Betsy can help you work on all the above plus much, much more by developing customized nutritional plans based on your individual needs. Betsey is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dietetics. She also has a Master of Arts Degree in Exercise Science from Western Michigan University. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to GLAC!

Whether you have lifted weights for years or are new to the gym floor, Pure Power will motivate and energize you by producing the results you have been striving for. Trainer Earl Hook uses cross training methods derived from body building, power lifting, olympic lifting, plyometrics and aerobic activity, to name a few. The coaching techniques provided in this program will generate excitement and give you a new perspective on weight training.

Class Dates to be Announced (8 Week Sessions)

Train like a combat athlete! This program will include high intensity conditioning that Doug has used to train professional Mixed Martial Arts Fighters, US Navy Seals, Israeli Commando's, the FBI and State and Local Law Enforcement.  In addition, we will teach the basics of Krav Maga self defense, including: basic comabatives (kicks, punches, elbows, knees, etc.) releases from holds, ground fighting, abduction and assault avoidance.

This 12 week golf fitness program, taught by PGA teaching professional and Certified Titleist Performance Institute Golf Fitness Instructor Marc White, is for men and women who want to create more strength and flexibility in their golf swing. The program is formatted after the Titleist Golf FItness Academy program as seen on the Golf Channel. Focus will be on golf specific exercises and emphasizing lower weight, higher rep functional training. Participants will complete this program with a much better understanding of the physical and functional relationships that occur in the golf swing. Please inform Marc by e-mail (mlwpga@comcast.net) prior to the first session of any physical limitation you may have, whether it's lower back, knees, shoulders, wrists or hips.

Shapedown is a weight management program for children (6 - 18) and their families. Under the guidance of a licensed dietician, exercise physiologist and a social worker, families will learn about healthy eating, an active lifestyle and effective communication skills. The 10-week program will promote weight loss and family unity. This is a St. Joseph Mercy Oakland directed program sponsored by Great Lakes Athletic Club.

These comprehensive programs are designed to provide at-risk clients with lifestyle education. Classes include supervised exercise and lifestyle education in a supportive environment. Clients will receive a class notebook with healthy recipes, workouts and tools to help improve their overall health and fitness. All participants receive a pre-class consultation as well as progressive fitness assessments. These classes are not designed to diagnose any disease or condition. All classes are twelve weeks and meet twice a week.
