COVID-19 SAFETY

Strong & healthy steps forward together.

The health and safety of our employees and club members is always our first priority.  As we continue to navigate the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Great Lakes Athletic Club is adhering to all laws, orders, mandates and guidelines to support public safety.

IF YOU ARE FEELING SICK, PLEASE DO NOT VISIT THE CLUB UNTIL YOU ARE SYMPTOM-FREE.

Highlights of our Safety Guidelines include:

FACE MASKS

The CDC, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and Oakland County Health Division all strongly recommend that everyone wear a mask covering the nose and mouth when indoors, regardless of vaccination status.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

We encourage members to keep a distance of at least 3 feet from other members whenever possible.

ENHANCED CLEANING

GLAC has always been meticulous about cleanliness—cleaning and sanitizing throughout the day and deep cleaning each night. This will continue daily/nightly. Enhanced measures have been implemented based on current CDC guidelines. All cleaning, sanitizing and disinfection products meet or exceed EPA requirements to effectively combat and eliminate the COVID-19 illness-causing virus.

Plexiglass barriers have been installed at the front desk as extra precaution for members and staff.

DRONE VIDEO TOUR

This drone tour, filmed by personal trainer Andrew Tallman, shows the health and safety measures we've taken to ensure your return to the gym is a safe one.

GLAC has done an amazing job addressing potential ways of viral transmission and changed their protocols accordingly.

- Mary Jo K. Voelpel, D.O.

With physical distancing and sanitary restrictions, sometimes going to the gym can be a pain, but not at places like Great Lakes Athletic Club. This place is HUGE and they’ve spaced all the equipment 6+ feet apart, have temperature checks before entering the building (lots of gyms do not do this) and have plexiglass between you and the front desk employees. They’ve really pulled out all the stops to help you feel safer working out in a gym setting.
