GARY GREIB

USA Triathlon Coach, 20 Years+ of Competitive Racing Experience, MS-Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Tech University

Gary’s passion is triathlon and run racing. He has been racing competitively for the past 20 years and earned his USAT coaching certification in 2017. His personal race accomplishments include numerous race podium finishes, earning USAT All American status multiple times, and qualifying for the Boston Marathon and Ironman World Championships (70.3 and Kona). Gary started his own triathlon coaching business, Excel Triathlon LLC, in 2018 after early retirement from the automotive industry (mechanical engineer). He has successfully coached numerous athletes for races ranging from sprint distance triathlon to Ironman distance triathlon and marathons. He loves working with beginners as well as experienced athletes that have a desire to improve, achieve podium finishes, or qualify for big events. He has coached both youths and adults, and has real world experience balancing training/racing with work and family obligations. Gary utilizes his engineering degree to the full extent to understand and optimize both equipment and the mechanics of human movement to improve a client’s race efficiency. Gary’s coaching services include customized training plans, swim/bike/run technique assessments (with video capability), general nutrition guidelines, mental skills training, strength and stretching routines, equipment selection guidance, and race nutrition/planning.
