Focusing on fundamentals, Coach Jake Shockey and his staff of basketball players are dedicated to skill development and typically cover shooting, ball handling, passing, athleticism, rebounding, dribbling, defense, and other important basketball skills to nurture the total athlete.
Basketball camp is all about improving the skills and fundamentals of campers in a personalized setting. The workouts are hosted in one of Great Lakes Athletic Club’s two full-length basketball courts. The basketball facility has adjustable hoops and all the latest equipment needed to host athletic drills.
Coach Jake Shockey is the former Team Captain of Aquinas College Men’s Basketball and attended Orchard Lake St. Mary’s prep where his 6’4” height made him a powerful Forward for the team. He and his team of basketball professionals provide individual skills training and leadership for players of all levels.
Kids benefit from Shockey’s competitive experience, but also love Coach Shockey’s enthusiastic energy. The camp encourages kids to have fun while improving their athletic skills.
Coach Shockey has coached locally since he graduated Aquinas College in 2012. He was Team Captain of the Aquinas Men’s Basketball Team, was awarded the League Character Award and named Defensive MVP. Prior to that, he played at Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Prep as a Forward.
If your basketball enthusiast needs more time on the courts, there are free pick-up leagues during open family hours.
